OVERVIEW
Galway City Partnership CLG is the Local Development Company for
Galway City.
The Asylum, Migration and Integration Project *
- * aims to provide:
* ASYLUM SUPPORT through building a supportive and inclusive
environment
* INTEGRATION THROUGH EDUCATION AND CAPACITY BUILDING for all
migrants to gain employment related essential skills and increase
capacity to engage with mainstream organisations
* INTEGRATION THROUGH PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELLBEING to strengthen
the capacity of third country nationals
* IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INTERCULTURAL STRATEGY for Galway.
AMIF is funded by the Irish Government, through the Department of
Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth and Co-funded by
the European Union, through the European Social Fund +.
ROLE
The AMIF Joint Project Co-ordinator will co-ordinate and facilitate
the implementation of the AMIF project, under the management and
direction of Galway City Partnership.
The Joint AMIF Project Co-ordinator will have specific responsibility
for developing, implementing, and managing designated actions
underpinning the AMIF BRIDGE programme for Galway for the period
*, ensuring alignment with project objectives
and EU funding requirements.
The AMIF Joint Project Co-ordinator will report to the CEO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
THE CORE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE AMIF PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR WILL BE TO:
* Oversee the completion, launch and implementation of the
Intercultural Strategy for Galway.
* Act as the joint point of contact between the BRIDGE project Team,
CEO, the Board of Galway City Partnership, funding partners,
stakeholders, and the EU funding body.
* Manage and oversee the work of designated BRIDGE staff in
partnership with joint co-ordinator
* Develop and implement supports to provide tailored assistance to
international protection applicants, including employability and
educational supports and programmes, cultural events, and language
support, integration and community development initiatives.
* Promote the design and delivery of new and appropriate initiatives
for target group clients in line with the grant agreement.
* Support and contribute to the development of the Galway City
Intercultural Strategy.
* Seek to ensure the mainstreaming of lessons learned from
programmes initiated by AMIF.
* Integrate the work of the AMIF within the overall work and
strategies of the Galway City Partnership.
* Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the AMIF BRIDGE Project
* - *, including the
collection and storage of necessary data in line with funder
requirements, evaluating the performance of the overall project and
adjusting of plans where necessary to meet all goals and deadlines.
* Prepare and submit progress reports and other documentation
required to funders, department, sub committees, operational, board or
any other such fora as deemed appropriate.
* Monitor the projects budget and spending to ensure expenditure is
controlled and administered in accordance with guidelines and project
goals.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
REQUIRED:
* A third level qualification (Level 7 or 8) in Human Rights,
International Relations, Community Development, Social Sciences or
other relevant discipline.
* Minimum experience of * years of experience
in project management.
* Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with migrant
communities particularly those who are currently living in
accommodation centres.
* Effective time management skills and ability to work under time
constraints to reach KPI’s and other relevant deadlines.
* IT skills including proficiency in word, excel, PowerPoint and
SharePoint.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and
multidisciplinary environment.
* Possess high levels of emotional intelligence including empathy,
understanding and appreciation of the needs and issues of Asylum
Seekers.
DESIRABLE:
* Experience of working with individuals from a variety of
marginalised backgrounds particularly asylum seekers and migrants.
* Knowledge of EU funded projects.
* Knowledge of immigration policies, practices and legislation in
Ireland.
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
The contract is for a part-time position ( *.5

The working hours will be part-time; however, the role may require
some flexibility from time to time.
This role will be based in Unit 6, 2, The Plaza Offices, Headford Rd.,
